The Mates You Need In 2022

It's only March and this year has already turned out to be a chart-topper for global madness. The recent events happening with omicron, protests and Ukraine are frightening and have many people questioning the world and their own futures.

What you do need in times like these are a group of people you can rely on to help you get the most out of these unique times we live in.

Honest Mates

An often overlooked quality and sometimes hard to find; these mates who know when and how to be honest with you.

It's not always easy to be honest, in fact it's usually hard, and because of that it can be confused with being the wrong thing to do especially when the truth is difficult.

This makes it that much more valuable to have a mate who can pull you up and set you straight.

Get out and Do Something Mates

Luckily there's no shortage of these mates. Whether it's another swashbuckling night at the local or a quick trip to the beach to get away from your partner, you need at least one reliable mate who's always keen for an adventure.

Lock downs and other restrictions have made this difficult for us to do and it's still not as straight forward as it used to be, which makes it that much more meaningful when you do get a chance to hit the town together or embark on the perfect road trip.

These are the mates who encourage you to get out of the house even when you don't feel like it.

Real Mates

It is absolutely vital to have at least one person you can have a proper, open chat with regularly. We all go through so much, (some more than others) and we need to socialise what we experience to work through it.

Not surrounding yourself with people who you can often share your struggles with regularly puts you at risk of dwelling on the negativity of these stories and becoming stuck in the past.

Be the Best Mate

"What goes around comes around" they say - and it's very true. To get around good people who will support you and show you a good time first you've got to be your best. Be open and supportive to others, be honest and trusting.
