5 Ideas For Better Well-Being

Updated: Mar 3, 2022

"A single idea has the ability to change your life" - Bob Proctor. Even more so when you put the idea into action.

Well being habits are so important in our daily lives. These practices help us stay balanced and sane amidst the chaos of the outside world. Listed here are some basic ideas to help you find some peace of mind today

Share What You're Going Through

Get together with people you trust and start having the valuable conversations of talking about how you feel. We are all born story tellers and need to express ourselves with others. The more honest you are with yourself and other people the better you will feel.

Get Off Your Phone

This point can't be stressed enough, and needs to be repeated all the time. In a recent study by EliteContentMarketer.com, the average screen time for young adults is 5.1 hours per day which works out to be 77 days per year.

77 days of the year spent scrolling through news feeds, judging and getting more drawn into the ever distracting digital world. That's a scary thought

The additional damaging effects of social media have been proven in countless studies, and the evidence is conclusive.

Keep a Journal

Every day we all experience the world in our own unique way. We all have amazing experiences and we all have struggles to deal with.

Writing down these experiences helps us connect with our day and allows us to relive the moments. It allows us to draw any meaning from our experiences so that we can learn and grow from them.

Writing down your thought process from certain events can be both an eye opening experience and a relief to your well-being. Specifically with negative events; the act of taking an idea and putting it onto paper is an act of releasing that thought and the stress it carries.

Take Responsibility

We're going deep right off the bat. Rule number one, take responsibility for yourself more often. The more you take responsibility for yourself and your behaviours, the more control you will have over yourself and even how you feel.

Blaming others and being the victim is easy, and yes, other people have done bad things to you but to gain true freedom you need to rise up and take responsibility for yourself and other things you can control. Knowing what you can and cannot control is essential.

Accept Yourself

Stop waiting for the day to come where everything will magically fall into place and you finally feel confident and fulfilled. You need to accept yourself and where you're at in this very moment to find peace of mind.

Self acceptance doesn't happen overnight, it takes a lot of time and effort. Be patient with yourself and tolerate less negativity toward yourself.

Here's an affirmation to help with self acceptance:

" I am more than enough for myself and everyone else " - Remind yourself of that every day.
